Letter from GOTR Mid Michigan’s Board of Trustees
As the Board of Directors of Girls on the Run Mid-Michigan, we value your participation, enthusiasm and support, and would like to keep you abreast of some important changes within our organization.
Stephanie McClintock, our long-time Executive Director, is leaving her position later this year. If you’ve ever worked with Stephanie, you know that she brings enthusiasm, passion, and dedication to this role. Stephanie began serving our council in January of 2010. During her time as the ED, we have served 7,860 girls and there is no doubt that we wouldn’t have been as successful without her dedication and leadership as we have grown through the years. If you’ve ever met Stephanie, you understand how wonderful she is.
Stephanie’s dedication to serving more girls and doing so in an inclusive and intentional way has helped us to become the council we are today.
Our council will miss her, her vibrant personality, and her amazing and signature colorful hair. In all seriousness, we will miss Stephanie, but we are approaching this change with optimism and excitement as we begin the next chapter for our council.
Below, you’ll find a few words from Stephanie about her transition. We hope you’ll join us in thanking Stephanie for her outstanding legacy of leadership.
Girls on the Run (GOTR) and my time with our council has been and will continue to be extremely meaningful to me, as are the relationships I've developed with the many fantastic people I’ve had the opportunity to meet and work with. I’m immensely grateful for the years in this role, as it has provided me with opportunities to learn and grow through challenges and new experiences. It's also given me the inspiration to wholeheartedly and joyfully dedicate my time and energy to the job. I feel a great sense of pride knowing that together, we have positively impacted the lives of nearly 9,000 local girls since GOTR Mid Michigan was founded in 2007. I know that the work we’ve done up until now has built the necessary connections and laid the solid foundation necessary to see GOTR Mid Michigan into 2025 and beyond, serving girls in our community with the level of quality and integrity that mid-Michigan has come to know and expect. It gives me great peace and joy to think of the many lives that GOTR Mid Michigan has and will continue to change in the future. I will miss GOTR very much, but am excited for new adventures! Like the girls who participate in our programs, I believe that my long tenure with GOTR is what has given me the confidence to make the decision to try international living with my husband, Jeffrey. -Stephanie
